I have been reading a lot about Taser C2 for Self Defence. Thanks, for all the comments above I really am impressed with all the details you provided above. I already have a firearm and feel it would be lot better to have a Taser in place of the firearm.

Self Defence does not mean you end up taking ones life. I would certainly agree having a Taser. I will be ordering a Taser from you shortly.

A Taser / Stun Gun are a totally different beast from a firearm - being one if lethal and the other non-lethal.
I like to think of the firearm as my last line of defense and the Taser, Stun Gun and/or Pepper Spray as my primary means of self defense.

I do think both Taser/Stun Guns and Firearms/Guns (only if your comfortable with the handling and use of firearms) have a valid place in the household.

I wish to be safe and keep my family safe as well, but I do not wish to be open to lawsuits or having the death of another person weigh on me, so I have to agree with Nate regarding the comments by dougm.

The Taser is a great device at a good price. I was able to buy mine with the laser for $299 when Stinger had the sale at the end of March. That was the best price anywhere on the internet (I searched everywhere) so I feel I got a good deal on my purchase here - plus service and support here is great.

I have purchased several items here for myself and my company drivers - I have never had a problem.

Most quality firearms cost more than $350.00 and the liability is WAY, WAY more if you seriously injure or kill someone! In todays world you can be sued for killing a person who broke into your own home by the persons family!

The price is nothing compared to the peace of mind and safety it affords. This is the primary reason we started a non-lethal self defense company.

What if I miss or the unit misfires, will I have time to reload? I think not...

** Note from Stinger Defense:
We recommend the Taser with Laser sights for this reason. At the recommend firing distance of (15 feet or less) using the laser sights you would almost need to be blind to miss! The Taser does not misfire like a conventional firearm, which it usually faulty ammunition. Reloading a Taser takes LESS time then reloading a single bullet into a revolver and the same time as a semi-automatic ammunition clip.

I consider myself somewhat of an expert being that I have fired almost every type of modern weapon used by both the military and police while with the US Marines. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for firearms and I own several. However, I would never use one as my first line of defense in a civilian setting where lawsuits are so prevalent. If I have to resort to firearms things have gone drastically wrong or we have been invaded - either way I'm pretty much in trouble.

PS - DougM did not purchase a Taser from us Stinger Defense, so we do not know what he paid or if he even owns one.

Here at Stinger we do not like to filter reviews, questions or opinions because then they become skewed and are an inaccurate representation.

However I do not see how the question pertains to the incident. Black, white, yellow, green... it makes no difference. What I have found in life is that anyone can harm you: family, friends and even that nice looking old lady crossing the street. Example: Statistics show that sexual assault is almost always someone you know!

Don't be fooled into false since of security nor be afraid of stereotypes based on ethnicity and prejudices.

I ordered the Taser C2 about a month ago and was already forced to use it. I work in LA and coming home late one night I had some one try to mug me in the car garage. BAM - I shot him with the Taser and he was out cold! I jumped in my car and drove to a safe area while calling the police. He was still stagering around the car garage and the police were able to arrest him.

The police complimented me on my choice of a stun gun (as they use Taser too - a police model) and said I did a perfect job - I protected myself with the Taser, moved to a safe area and called the police.

I spoke with Shelly and she even sent me a free cartridge replacement from her own Taser C2. I suppose Stinger Defense gets a lot of them for free from the Taser company (since they sell them); however it was still a nice gesture - since she could have just sold me a replacement Taser cartridge.
